  1. Geez Eddie that's like asking you which one is your favorite kid!!!!!
If I had to make a choice though it would probably be "No Control"

  2. All your albums are great but i love No Control and Playing For Keeps, "Trinidad" is one of my all time favorite songs by anyone.

  3. That's really a hard question. I love all of them. They are all special in their own right. I can't understand why all of your songs did not go to number one. Especially when I heard a new song for the first time I could not stop listening to it over and over. All of your songs and music are special and a tribute album is a fantastic idea. The music moves the spirit and there is not stopping it, those are the songs that make you know that you are alive! I love your music and please keep it coming!

  5. Hi Eddie. I saw your show and met you in Round Rock Texas this past weekend. As I mentioned when you were signing autographs, you are a musical genius and I truly thank you for the magical songs you wrote and continue to write that so many millions of people listened to over the years and enjoyed so much. Your music moves the soul and has brought much joy over the years. It amazes me that a few people can get together and make such amazing music. And Eddie, you still got it. When Im your age I'll be in a wheel chari mumbling. But you - wow, how do you sing as if you were 20? Your voice is still right on the Money! Be extremely proud of yourself and I know you are proud of your family - I saw that at the concert. Best wishes to you Eddie. - Chris Johnson

  6. Oh and I forgot to answer your question. I agree with everyone else, how can we just pick one album Eddie - they are all fantastic. I'll go with 'Eddie Money' though and then 'Can't Hold Back'. - Chris Johnson

  7. Hey Eddie, long time fan originally from VA, now NC. My first instinct would have me pick "No Control" as my fav release of yours. I'm a guitar player and I remember very well when I bought that vinyl. I had been anticipating the new release for a while...and then I put it on the turntable. The guitar tones were so big! They seemed a much more out front in the mix and aggressive than the previous records. The production was on another level (I think the first digital for you). It was exactly what I wanted from a new EM LP. However, I realize there was so much previous material that could be considered more "tribute" worthy. But, not when I think about songs like "My Friends, My Friends" or "Passing by the Graveyard". These cuts are timeless, which seems to be the common denominator for all the great EM tunes....relevant and substantial....leaving out trendiness. Sorry, I guess I wasn't much help with your question. I'll stop ramblin'. BTW, how's John Nelson? I'd like to find a website or page for him but I've had no luck. Do you have any contact with your old former bandmates?
Thanks for your contribution of inspiration to my own music. You've been a great influence on this 48 year old teenager.

  8. Dear Eddie,
I was just at the concert you played in Verde Valley, AZ on the night of 21st May. I really appreciate the respect you have shown to the service members of our armed forces that protect our beautiful country. After the show was over i came into the back tent, while waiting for some of the crowd to leave a staff member told me and my dad to go make our way in to get an autograph. i responded to that staff member that i wanted an autograph from you and your daughter. the staff member then asked your daughter if i could get an autograph from both you and your daughter, your daughter then replied with "i will try". the part that bothers me the most is the fact that she didn't try at all.

    Sincerely,
    SGT Owen, Michael

  10. Hey Eddie, its John from Coshocton! Has to be your no Control albumn. It came out when I met this sweet little lady named Valerie, & there was this song from No Control called "Think I'm In Love". The rest is history, we've been married almost 28 years now!

  12. Hi Eddie,
Your album:Can't Hold Back was your best album besides the greatest hits albums.
It really had some good solo sax in them, and the songs were timeless. The song,"Wanna Go Back" was almost my class of 87 song.
Thanks for playing in Indy. Finishing your show with "Shakin" was a great choice.
Come on back to Fort Wayne,IN-the fans and I miss your shows.

  16. Jon to Eddie: Hi (from the big apple today) Eddie,

My #1 favorite album of your's is of course your debut 1977 album on

the Columbia label "Eddie Money". I was there at your photo shoot with

Lynn Goldsmith and at your showcase at the Bottom Line in the

Village when you broke it out, Eddie Sorenson was there, Richie

Brazel was standing right next to me when you sang "Gambling Man"

and he was crying like a baby. It was a phenomenal breakout Eddie,

I'll never forget it, you made Musical History, I'm very proud of you

and my Family for your accomplishments. Keep up the good work!

    Sincerely,

  18. Just heard that you are coming to Rochester -- AWESOME NEWS!

If we are talking singles, i think far and away "Take Me Home Tonight" is your best. But if you are looking to re-release some songs, I really hope "After This Love's Gone" is on the list. That is a really great song that's lesser known in your catalog.

Looking forward to some great music on June 24th!

  31. Eddie, This is off topic, but, important to someone special who is a great fan of yours. Her name is Linda Auble (said she met you)and she too weak from cancer to see your concert. Her boyfriend Cris, a rad quadripledgic, asked me to try to get you to come by and see her! She is at the Santa Cruz Skilled Nurse Center on Soquel Ave.(frontage rd).The number there is 831 479 9000 and her's is 831 466 6763 (however, often, she is too weak to use the phone) It would help if I or they knew ahead of time if you had the time, so she could be ready and awake! Thanks, Linda's Friend, Eric B Goode 831 776 0970, Keep Rockn!

  33. Hey Eddie!!
The first album I purchased was 1983's Where's the Party. I played it until the cassette tape broke! It is still my sentimental favorite, and the one album that i-tunes doesn't offer. They should, because the auction prices are ridiculous!! I can't get my hands on a copy for less than $50!! Big Crash was my favorite track off that album, and I would love to see it on a new release.
You look great, keep up the good work!

  36. hey there Eddie,
I have been listening to your music for years...I actually came back from your tour stop at Albany, NY at Alive at Five. The sound cue guy couldn't seem to get things right...and then when I got your autograph on my CD after the show, you asked if you sounded okay...damn right you did....and your daughter...holy shyt...wow...never even knew you had a daughter...but wow...she has a hell of a set of pipes on her.. she has a hell of a voice and can sing her ass off...she can carry a tune and carry on the Money name for ya lol...thank you for autographing my CD and thanks to your daughter for autographing my shirt of her...money (no pun intended lol) well spent to support her career...

anyways...onto the topic at hand...songs to use towards a tribute album:

    baby hold on
    take me home tonite
    walk on water
    gimme some water

that's my two cents anyways lol

many thanks to you sir for coming back to Albany...you were at an Alive at Five a few years back but that was before I started sticking around for autographs...I'm 35 years old, used to live in Queens and now reside upstate in Albany and I grew up listening to 80's music...I had a blast tonite at your show...and being in the business for 30 years, you're holding up pretty damn well old man jk jk jk

many thanks for your performance..please come back soon...had alot of fun!!!

  37. Hi Eddie! I'm one of those "80s girls" you spoke of tonight, having just watched your concert in Albany! I LOVED it, and had such a great time!.. even when all I had was lemonade! Thanks so much for a great show! I appreciated, so much, that while I got to see you for free, you still put on an AWESOME show! I have paid good money to see others who clearly didn't even FEEL like performing, and I would never waste another dollar to see them, nor to buy their music ever again! Now if YOU put out another album??.. I'd want it as soon as it hit the stores!.. My favorite Eddie Money album is "Can't Hold Back". I LOVE that one!... Thanks again! ~tina

  43. Hi Eddie!

My daughter and I just went to see you at the State Fair in Sacramento and it was so much fun to get to take her to see you, since I've been a fan since I was 15 years old and now I'm 47!

I grew up in San Francisco and I've seen you in concert many times over the years and I have to say that my favorite song that you ever performed was "You're Still a Young Man" with the Tower of Power horn section. I wish you would record that and put it on an album.

It's hard to pick just one of my favorite songs of yours, but here are the Top 3 that have been most meaningful to me over the years.

  52. Hey Ed...it's DJ...used to work for Bill (with Peter Barsotti's boys in Production back in the days at 11th and Howard).

I was JUST posting to my FaceBook this morning that I don't understand why "Playin' For Keeps" didn't fare better back in the day. It's a MONSTER!

(Maybe) with the exception of your first release, which had all that "out of the box" energy, "Playin'" is by far your best work. Great tunes ("When You Took My Heart" may be one of the top five pop songs of all time), clean production...all of it, top shelf, my friend.

Suggestion...doing sets where you do one album in it's entirety and then finish off that set with the hits/closers. Would reintroduce newbies to your entire catalogue and bring back some great stuff you haven't touched in a while, which would have to be nice for you not doing the same set of same songs night after night.

Finally, all oedipal retorts notwithstanding, you and your daughter shold redo "Let's Be Lovers Again". She defnintely has the chops for it and with a current remix, I could see it breaking. Just a thought...

    Be well.

    Cheers!

  56. Hi Eddie (back in Oakland from NYC last night),

I always dug the way you sang "Wichita Lineman" when we had the band

with Eddie Sorenson, you should definitely cover that one and let me

lay down the keyboards on it. We just had a big family wedding in NY,

(my Nephew) Mom was there and all (4) of my Sisters...it was huge!

all the best from Oakland, keep on rockin',
